Import price studies · August 2026

What your product actually costs on a U.S. shelf

Three studies that rebuild the full price chain — FOB, freight, tariff, state excise taxes and every margin along the way — up to the Miami counter. Including the model read backwards: what export price you need to hit each shelf-price target.

Free. We only ask who we're talking to.

The reports are written in Spanish — the language of the exporters who use them.

Vino argentino

16 pages · Agosto 2026 · PDF

US$ 3,11/L
FOB promedio de exportación, primer semestre 2026 (−10,1 % interanual)

12 pages · Agosto 2026 · PDF

US$ 44/t
Arancel dentro de cuota (0,5 % del valor). Fuera de cuota: 26,4 %

How they're built

Country averages are separated from the relevant format's average.

Bottled wine FOB is not bulk FOB; fresh fillet is not the average of every format. Mixing them leads to bad decisions.

The chain is rebuilt to the counter, not to the port.

Tariffs, specific duties, federal excise, state excise and sales tax, plus each link's margin.

Every model is validated against an independent observed price.

And the result of that validation is published in the report, whether it lands or not.

The model is also run backwards.

From observed shelf price to implied FOB. That's where the series' best findings came from.

Limits are stated.

When a data source is paywalled and could not be consulted, the report says so. Tariffs move fast: each position carries its verification date.

Need a study on your own product?

We prepare the same report for any product you want to sell in the United States: its full price chain, the tariff in force with its date, the state excise taxes where you'll sell, and the export price you need for each shelf price. Free for anyone who registered.

The reports are informational and commercial in nature. They are not legal, customs, tax or investment advice. Tariff lines and quotas change: verify what's in force with your customs broker before committing a shipment. Legal.
